Romanian Pastoral Conference in Hollywood, FL Mission Trip to Haiti
April 7th – 9th and April 10th – 13th, 2011

My wife Bradusa and I along with Senior Pastor Alexandru Trombitas from Golgotha Romanian Church together with his wife had the privilege to join the Pastoral Conference by the grace of God in Hollywood, FL. Pastors from the USA and Canada attended at this conference for a time of fellowship and spiritual refreshment. Seminars on different topics were held by pastors and Christian leaders.

Some  Haiti-Pastoral-Conference_4842  of the topics in this seminar were ‘Legal protection of pastors’ which was held by Dr. Harry Mihet from Liberty Counsel whose purpose is to protect and advance religious freedom, the sanctity of human life and the family. Another topic was ‘Pastoral Support’ held by Pastor Lazar Gog. Ioan Szazs spoke about ‘Connecting the youth generation with the church’. Ghita Ritisan from Romania held a seminar about ‘Serving in the local church with a global impact’. Witnessing the Lord Jesus Christ must have a global impact and every church should have an apostolic mentality. We attended church service each night at the local church pastored by Gelu Strimbu. Pastor Alexandru and I planned on continuing with a ministry in Haiti immediately after the Pastoral Conference because our Romanian community is involved building a church in Jacmel, Haiti.

Early  Haiti-Pastoral-Conference_4848  the first year after the land for the church was purchased, numerous teams have arrived from Chicago, Nashville, Houston, North Carolina, Detroit, California, Atlanta, Arizona, Indiana, Portland and Seattle with more than 200 men and women spending from a few days to two weeks of work. Constantin Antemie oversaw the construction of the church and also mobilized people and raised funds for the construction. Besides the construction, 23 children have been adopted and were sponsored by different families from the USA. The adopted children were very happy to see us and that we love them. We brought all of them to the beach and had a good time. Pastor Medit Sanon and his church have been involved in raising these orphans until we finish the church building which we believe will have a multiple purpose. The basement of the church has been almost completed.  This is where the church is gathering right now and God willing, we expect do the finishing for the main sanctuary on our next trip there.  Haiti-Pastoral-Conference_4938  We also visited the local prison where we held services and encouraged the inmates with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Hygienic goods and bibles were delivered to them gladly. The second day, the entire floor of the prison mobilized to sing the song ‘How Great Thou Art’ which brought God’s presence among everyone. Some inmates prayed in repentance and wished to change their lifestyle. God guides, he provides.

As Haiti-Pastoral-Conference_4944  a result of the quake, there are currently over a million homeless Haiti residents. Our plan is to make an impact in the lives of those people that are hopeless with the gospel of Jesus Christ and also to train leaders to make a difference in the lives of the Haitian people. Pastor Alexandru held a seminar with the topic of leadership for two days and about 55 pastors attended from the Jacmel area. We held a service in the church building and every one of us shared the gospel and blessed the people. This entire project is a blessing from God for this community more than we thought when we first purchased the land last year.

We Haiti-Pastoral-Conference_4903  pray that God will provide for us Romanian missionaries that will remain in Haiti for a long period of time. God Bless all of you with your prayer, funds, personal efforts mission trips while making a difference in the life of this distressed nation. You are fulfilling the great commission that Jesus Christ has commanded us to do.
